Summary of position:
Under the authority of the director Asia of Investissement-Québec, contribute to the elaboration of a business strategy matching the potential of the covered territory within the economic context of the province of Québec, establish priorities, set objectives and evaluate the means necessary to attain them. According to the established business strategy, the Investment Officer proceeds to target potential companies and business opportunities in order to meet the objectives in terms of active dossiers and realized investments to Québec; ensure the lobbying and the promotion of Québec with targeted prospect companies in India in order to facilitate their introduction and establishment in Québec; in collaboration with the Asia department at Investissement Quebec, schedule and coordinate welcome missions to Québec for prospect companies and ensure follow-up; provide the Asia department with relevant information on a regular basis, for the business reviews; provide management with information on the support provided to the business development and all emerging trends related to market development

Essential qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree from a recognized university (commerce, management, International management.

Language: Fluency in English (written and oral), Hindi (oral), knowledge of French is an asset.

Experience:Minimum 5 years (within the past 7 years) of recent experience in:
•Working with commercial or government clients in investment promotion and/or international trade;
•Sales and marketing experience.

Computer Skills: MS-office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, Internet.

·Knowledge of country led investment promotion processes;
·Knowledge of the Indian business environment and community;
·Knowledge of Canada’s federal structure and the role of provinces, specifically, Quebec, in international trade and investment opportunities into Canada;
·Knowledge of Canada’s attributes as an investment destination and Canadian investment policy and international business trade and issues;
·Knowledge of planning and results-based management;
·Knowledge of Canada and Québec investment policies and programs.

•Provide strategic advice, briefings, written reports, and speeches or speaking points to management;
•Coordinate conflicting priorities within tight deadlines and meet work targets.
•Event management - Dealing with the commercial contacts and managing relations with a diverse client base;
•Conduct research and compile reports.
•Develop and maintain an extensive contact base (private sector businesses and influencers), in order to foster connections and leads.
•Establish effective interpersonal relationships within teams, with clients and external partners.
•Provide advice to clients on investment opportunities & market entry strategies and analyze investment issues encountered
•Develop annual plan and priorities setting, budget allocation and reporting;
•Use modern technology and social media platforms in lead generation and investment promotion.

•Meet all of the mandatory screening qualifications and mandatory rated qualifications stated above
•Have independent work authorization in India

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

•Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
•Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
•Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

Area of selection:
All employees of the High Commission of Canada and Canadian missions in India; Individuals who are currently residing & eligible to work in India

The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the Consulate General of Canada, Mumbai which may arise in the twelve (12) months following the completion of this competition.
