Summary of position:
Under the general direction of the CBSA Liaison Officer (LO) of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the incumbent will assist in the prevention of illegal migration and customs contraband of goods; represent the LO and CBSA in all communication and networking with representatives of host countries and other organizations, to promote the achievement of corporate objectives while providing support to the Liaison program and the other objectives of the CBSA; performs other related duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Education:
• Diploma/Degree from a recognized institution in a discipline related to the job’s requirements e.g. business administration, social and applied sciences OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Language:
• Fluent English (oral and written)

Experience:
• Experience in dealing with the public / client services
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent* working experience in a discipline related to the job’s requirements
*Recent is defined as within the past 5 years.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of standard office procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Higher degree of education
• Having previously worked for a diplomatic mission or international organization
• Knowledge of French and/or Arabic language
• Experience in airport interdiction work (Immigration/Customs)
• Professional experience relating to immigration or consular services
If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

• Occasional overtime may be required

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Residency in the UAE
• Ability to obtain a UAE work visa
• Ability to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
