Summary of position:
The Embassy of Canada in Vienna has a requirement for cleaning staff for its Common Services program with responsibilities including:

• Cleaning of all areas of the Mission including but not limited to representational areas, bathrooms, kitchens, offices, cleaning of cutlery and tableware, cleaning and ironing of linens, etc.
• Assisting with official hospitality functions at mission and on request at the Official residence including but not limited to preparation of meeting rooms for events, serving guests during functions, etc.
• Creating and updating of Excel inventories for items stored at the Chancery
• Ordering of cleaning materials, paper towels, etc. including periodic check of prices in accordance with your supervisor’s instructions
• Accompanying contractors on Mission premises
• Other duties as required

This position works under the supervision of the Common Services Assistant (Property Management) and provides services to the Embassy of Canada, the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and the Canadian Delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their application how they meet all of the essential qualifications.
• Minimum requirement: secondary education diploma or equivalent
• Practical use of German and English (speaking, writing and reading). Language capabilities may be tested and must score B2 or higher for German, and B1 or higher for English.

• A minimum of four (4) years of recent* work experience as interior cleaner or a similar position
• Experience working courteously and effectively in a multinational team
*Recent is regarded as within the last 5 years

• Basic computer skills: e-mail (Outlook) and spreadsheets (Excel)
• Able to work well in a team
• Able to work systematically with limited direction or supervision
• Able to coordinate priorities within tight deadlines
• Communicates clearly, politely and effectively
• Flexible and handles work pressure well
• Professional integrity, discretion and good judgment

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Fluency level/C1 or native German speaker
• Fluency level/B2 or native English speaker
• Basic or intermediate knowledge of French (speaking and reading)
• Recent experience (within the past five years) as a cleaner in a diplomatic mission, a government agency, or a multinational company
