Anticipatory Staffing: Commercial Assistant (m/f) - Part-Time

The starting salary is 1,544 EURO gross per month for 18.75 hours per week plus benefits (13th month salary)

The position is indeterminate and part time with 18.75 hours per week. The working hours are in the morning: Mondays to Fridays 09:00 - 12:45.

Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Minister-Counsellor: provides general administrative services to the Minister-Counsellor; maintains section financial records, and integrates trade-related data for BRLIN, MUNIC and DDORF into reporting for Minister-Counsellor; and supports BRLIN/TD programme activities generally to ensure timely and effective delivery of core services to Canadian clients (with assistance from trade officers as directed by the Minister-Counsellor).

Essential qualifications:
Essential Qualifications

- Professional level (written and oral) of German
- Professional level (written and oral) of one of Canada’s official languages (English or French)

- High-school leaving certificate (Abitur or equivalent)
- Secretarial qualification (or equivalent, demonstrating capacity to perform essential secretarial and administrative tasks)

- Significant work experience in an office environment. (Significant experience is defined as a minimum of three years out of the past five).
- Experience with budgeting and/or financial software

Rated Requirements

- Excellent knowledge of computer applications (including, but not limited to MS Office) used in a professional environment
- Knowledge of standard office procedures (e.g., bookkeeping)
- Knowledge of German business culture

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints
- Ability to prioritize

Asset Qualifications:
- Work experience in an international environment
- Knowledge of Canadian business or government culture
