Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Contract and Procurement Officer, the Common Service Delivery Point Contract and Procurement Assistant is responsible for compiling, maintaining data and advising on basic materiel management, procurement and contracting activities for an assigned range of goods and services for identified regional client missions. The type of services includes inputting and maintaining data, such as Purchase Orders in the Department's SAP-based financial management system; providing routine contracting and procurement advice and services including the processing and maintenance of contracting files, scanning and reviewing received documentation and preparing and submitting forms on different systems and to different recipients.

Essential qualifications:
Mandatory Screening Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Language: Fluency in English (oral & written).

Experience: At least three (3) years (within the past five (5) years) of recent and relevant experience in an Indian or international organization in the following areas:
•Experience in entering accurately and rapidly large volume of data in SAP or another software.
•Experience in providing client service, advice and guidance to clients.

Computer Skills: MS-office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, Internet.

Mandatory Rated Qualifications:

Knowledge:
•Operational knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability:
•Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
•Ability to coordinate conflicting priorities within tight deadlines and meet work targets in a fast paced office environment.
•Ability to enter high volume of data accurately into a computer system.

Asset Qualifications:
Candidates are encouraged to indicate how they meet the following criteria, where applicable:

•Experience working in a contracting and procurement role.
•Experience working with SAP software.
•Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
•Knowledge and ability to interpret technical terms for specialty maintenance contracts for chanceries and official residences.

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

•Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
•Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
•Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

**Candidates must be available to work overtime and travel, as and when required**

The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the High Commission of Canada, New Delhi which may arise in the eighteen (18) months following the completion of this competition.
