Summary of position:
Reporting to the Deputy High Commissioner, the Head of the Visits, Logistics and Protocol Unit manages and supervises the overall operation of Canadian official visits to India, Nepal and Bhutan, as well as official hospitality events for the High Commissioner. The position includes the following duties:

1.Responsible for overall official visit management (India, Nepal, Bhutan) for the High Commissioner and official Canadian visits (VVIPs and Ministers)
2.Responsible for oversight of official hospitality events at the Official Residence and other venues as required.
3.Responsible for liaison with the Ministry of External Affairs and other Government of India ministries and agencies on protocol /visits related matters; and,
4.Other Visits & Protocol related duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Mandatory Screening Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline

Language: Fluency in English and Hindi (oral & written)

Experience: Minimum 4 years (within the past 5 years) of recent and relevant experience in:
a) Similar position, or
b) A position involving: managing and supervising the official visits program, official events management and related logistics; continuous liaising with Ministry of External Affairs and other Government of India ministries and agencies for protocol related matters.

Computer Skills: MS-office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, Internet.

•Knowledge of finance/ contracting procedures and budget planning

•Ability to plan and organize and oversee the overall management of logistical arrangements with minimum supervision
•Ability to clarify details, provide accurate and sometimes complicated information to interlocutors within the Section

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

•Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
•Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
•Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

**Candidates must be available to work overtime and travel, as and when required**

Area of selection:
All employees of the High Commission of Canada and Canadian missions in India; Individuals who are currently residing & eligible to work in India

The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the Consulate General which may arise in the twelve (12) months following the completion of this competition.
