Job Title:
Immigration Experience Canada Program Assistant (m/f) - Part-Time

The starting salary is 617 EURO gross per month for 7.5 hours per week plus a 13th month salary.

Term Details:
The position is determinate for six months with the possibility of prolongation. The position is part-time (7.5 hours on Fridays) with the possibility of some overtime and after hours work for participation at fairs and events.

Summary of position:
Under general supervision of the Immigration Program Manager or an Officer, supports the delivery of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) Programs through furthering the processing of applications using procedural expertise, assisting an Officer in reporting and liaison, program integrity, Visa Application Centre (VAC) governance, promotion and recruitment activities or other support to clients. Requires a developed knowledge of established guidelines and procedures. Exercises initiative in organizing work, tracking resources, and resolving difficult problems.

Essential qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- University degree from a recognized institution.

- Minimum 2 years of recent* experience (at least 30 hours per week) working in an office environment in an administrative support or program assistant capacity (*recent is defined as within the last 5 years)

- Fluent in German (written and oral)
- Good knowledge (written and oral) of one of Canada’s official languages (English or French)

Rated Requirements:
- Knowledge of Canada’s immigration policies and programs, including International Experience Canada;
- Good computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
- Presentation and public speaking skills;
- Able to perform calculations and do basic accounting;
- Interpersonal and communication skills, client service orientation;
- Integrity, ethics and values;
- Initiative - capacity to work with little supervision

Asset Qualifications:
- Experience working on Canadian immigration matters;
- Knowledge of Canadian culture, policies and institutions;

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
- Preparedness to work extra hours on occasion including evenings and weekends and to respond to work related demands outside office hours;
- Occasional short travel in Germany and Europe, as required.

Condition(s) of Employment:
- Ability to obtain an enhanced reliability clearance
- Residence in Germany
- Valid work permit for Germany at present

Area of selection:
