Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Political Counsellor, the position supports the delivery of the FPDS program for all countries of accreditation of the Embassy of Canada in Budapest by:

1. providing general administrative support for the efficient and effective operation of the FPDS program, including by providing administrative support to the Political Counsellor and other members of the program;
2. providing administrative, logistics and team support for the delivery of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) and other mission-specific programs or funds;
3. organizing logistics, public relations (including social media) and financial aspects of events organized by the FPDS program and facilitating communication with stakeholders; and
4. carrying out other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized university; or
• An equivalent combination of education and training related to the position
(Diploma, degree or transcripts may be requested)

Language:
• Fluency in English C1 (oral & written) per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Fluency in Hungarian C2 (oral & written) per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Good level of French B2 (oral & written) per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years work experience (in the last 10 years) in any four of the following areas listed below:

 Budgeting or financial management
 Event planning and logistics
 Project or program management
 Client relations or service
 Administration service
 Oral communication and written correspondence
 Research and compilation of background material on political and economic issues
 Monitoring or management of social media outlets (e.g. Facebook and Twitter) and drafting entries

Knowledge:
• Good knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Knowledge of social media outlets, particularly Twitter and Facebook
• General knowledge of the Government of Canada, including its key foreign policy priorities
• Knowledge of general administration procedures and practices
• Knowledge of basic financial processes

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Previous experience in a Diplomatic, Governmental or Public Sector environment
• Previous experience working as a program assistant or executive assistant
• Fluency in French C1 or C2 (oral & written) per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Language capacity in Slovene, Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian

o Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30 (or 08:30-17:00)
o Friday: 08:00 - 13:30 (or 08:30-14:00)

Condition(s) of Employment:
