Summary of position:
Reporting to the Trade Commissioner, provides administrative services; trade exhibition and other promotional event participation; document management; research; operational contacts; financial monitoring and reporting; logistics support for events; high level and business delegation visit programs coordination; pre-qualified service provider monitoring and assessment and other duties.

Essential qualifications:
Education: Graduation from a government recognized University.

Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Punjabi

Experience: Minimum 3 years (within the past 5 years) of recent and relevant experience in all of the following areas:
•Experience in assisting in general event promotion or market research or event management or business development;
•Experience with an organization involved in international trade or event management or product promotion or business consulting or international logistics
•Experience in writing, editing and formatting documents;
•Experience in conducting online research and synthesizing information from research into a coherent format, such as briefings, correspondence, and responses to enquiries.

Computer Skills: MS-Office (including strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, Internet.

Knowledge:
•Strong knowledge of office organizational principles, filing, inventory control and communications logs and accounting skills.

Abilities:
•Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
•Demonstrated ability to act decisively and work with diverse teams and clients.
•Proven analytical, collaboration, and problem solving skills.
•Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.
1.Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
2.Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
3.Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

*The successful candidate may be asked to work extended hours when/ as required.

Start date of the successful candidate will be a consideration.*

Area of selection:
Individuals who are eligible to work in India; All employees of the High Commission of Canada and Canadian missions in India

Important Notes:

The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the Trade Office which may arise in the twelve (12) months following the completion of this competition.
