Summary of position:
Context: The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service is a world-wide network of professionals in international business development (IBD), with preferred access to business knowledge and contacts, who are committed to advancing Canadian interests abroad. These positions contribute to the delivery of the IBD program at the mission in accordance with the TCS Client Service Policies and Government of Canada policies for international trade, investment, and science and technology, with the objective of helping Canadian clients make better business decisions abroad.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Trade Commissioner with a focus on a primary sector and two or more secondary sectors contributes to the delivery of the IBD program at the mission.

- Developing, planning and coordinating trade and investment initiatives to assist companies in advancing their commercial interests
- Monitoring and reporting on issues and market developments
- Creating strategies for market entry
- Import/ export industries
- Working with embassies, international organizations and/ or local government agencies

Knowledge of
- Key sectors of the Philippine economy including ICT and/ or Clean Tech

Mondays - Thursdays: 07h30 - 16h15
Fridays: 07h30 - 12h00

Condition(s) of Employment:
1. Obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance from the Government of Canada. This involves, among other things, criminal record checks, credit checks, and validation of qualifications.

2. Meet medical requirements as defined by the employer and will be asked to undergo a medical evaluation by a physician.

3. Be able and committed to working additional hours as required and on short notice including evenings and weekends.

Area of selection:
Open to Philippine nationals and expatriates eligible for a work permit, who are currently residing in the Philippines
