Summary of position:
As locally-engaged information assistant under the supervision of the Deputy Head Public Affairs, provides information in German, English and French to the general public as well as to groups in the MMS in the Chancery Building; collects and maintains information resources; collates a variety of documentation and records; answers general information requests and sends relevant information material, using standard form letters; assists in outreach activities.

Essential qualifications:
Essential qualification

• University degree or other post-secondary qualification with a specialisation in Canadian Studies, North American Studies, International Relations or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of expertise

• At least one year of recent work experience within the last seven years in an office environment
• At least one year of recent work experience within the last five years in the field of education, preferably working directly with youth
• At least one year of recent work experience in event organisation and/or public affairs within the last five years preferably in an international environment or museum environment or similar

• Professional level (written and oral) German
• Professional level (written and oral) of one of Canada’s official languages (English or French)
• Good knowledge (written and oral) of the other official language (French or English)

• Strong knowledge of computer applications (including, but not limited to MS Office) used in a professional environment
• Knowledge of standard office procedures, such as bookkeeping

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to obtain the required security clearance
• Must be allowed at present to work in Germany for an indeterminate period
