Summary of position:
Under the direction of the Regional Human Resources Manager assists a portfolio of missions with their staffing activities. Advises on recruitment strategy. Advises on Area of Selection Guidelines. Provides and/or reviews Statement of Merit Criteria (SoMC), and job posters. Provides and/or reviews assessment tools such as written exams and interview questions. Develops or reviews the rating guide. Is responsible to ensure that the applicants are screened in line with the staffing guidelines and that all materials are translated into both official languages with the support from an HR Assistant. May participate in being on the selection board for some competitions. Will advise on recruitment best practices. Will advise and set up suitable psychometric tests when appropriate.
Will act as the Secretary at Virtual Classification Committee Meetings (VCC), gather information to present to the committee, answer questions posed by the committee and write a report for the committee members outlining their classification decision. Liaise with program managers as required to obtain relevant information, conduct desk audits as required. Inform missions of the outcome of the process.
The accurate storage and retention of files is paramount in this role for future reference using agreed naming conventions.

Whilst this is a summary of the current main areas of focus of the role, additional responsibilities may be allocated as the Common Service Delivery Point (CSDP) environment evolves over the forthcoming months, this will be discussed when appropriate with the incumbent.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a related field (e.g. Human Resources, Business, Behavioural Psychology) or 5 years equivalent experience working specifically in Human Resources.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years recent *work experience in a Human Resources Discipline in the key areas of Recruitment or position classification. *Recent is defined as within the last 7 years.

Knowledge: Knowledge of best practice Human Resources practices and procedures

Linguistic Profile: Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

Rated Requirements
Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following: written test, oral communication, interview and reference checks:
• Proficiency in acting in an advisory capacity to program managers.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and central filing systems.
• Effective interactive communication – Oral and Written.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to plan and organize workload, as well as to establish and manage priorities in a high-paced work environment.
• Teamwork, Flexibility and Adaptability.
• Professional Integrity.
• Client focus.

Asset Qualifications:
The High Commission has the right to further screen on Asset Qualifications and as such, preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates should also clearly demonstrate in their cover letter if they meet these factors:
• A CIPD qualification.
• Work experience in a Human Resources environment using an applicant tracking system.
• Work experience in a Human Resource environment using psychometric testing.
• Experience working for a High Commission or Embassy.
• Fluency in French.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Occasional overtime may be required.
• Occasional international travel may be required.
• Ability to travel throughout the EMEA region and to Canada, as required.

Condition(s) of Employment:
Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor. Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security screening (including a criminal record check).
Copies of educational qualifications will be required at the interview stage of the process. Successful candidate must have a valid passport and the required documentation allowing the right to work in the UK. Documentation will be required
