Summary of position:
Reporting to the Program Mgr/Senior Officer Cons. & Emergency or other senior officer. This position is the mission’s primary point of contact for all common services provided either directly at the mission or through a Common Service Delivery Point (CSDP). Supervises one or more Common Service Assistant(s) (CSA). Accountable for the provision of mission specific common services to mission clientele in addition to the coordination of regionalized common services requests from the mission to the CSDP. Responsible for the delivery of more than one of the following common services: financial, human resources, property and facilities management, material management and procurement; and the management of information and documentation of the service(s) in accordance with established policies, guidelines and procedures.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education:
• A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or two (2) year’s equivalent experience over and above the experience specified below.

Language:
• Fluency in English (oral, written)
• Fluency in Arabic (oral, written)
• Fluency in Kurdish (oral, written)

Experience:
• Three (3) years’ experience working in an office with main duties related to one or all of the following areas – planning, monitoring and evaluation, senior administration, implementation of policies and procedures.
• At least one year of experience in a role with direct supervision of others (within the past 3 years).

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Excellent knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices
• Knowledge related to supervision of others e.g. performance management and motivation, delegating work, recording absence

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Ability to communicate in French
• Experience in a diplomatic mission or international environment

• May be required to work overtime
• May involve periodic domestic travel

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Candidates must have a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period. If the employment is indeterminate, the work authorization should be permanent or itself lead to a permanent work authorization.
