Summary of position:
Under general supervision of the registry supervisor or an officer, and working as part of a team, provides a variety of support services to office operations. Communicates and assists clients or panel physicians to understand the immigration or medical application process/requirements and enable their compliance. Provides daily administrative support. Accesses departmental information systems to record and review information for the processing of applications or medical examinations. Utilizes automated tools such as photocopiers, scanners, and telephones. Responds to service requests from clientele and performs other duties as required.

Essential qualifications:

Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education: GCSE’s or equivalent (i.e. minimum High School Diploma)

Experience: 6 months recent* experience in an office environment in a clerical or administrative support capacity. *recent is defined as within the last 2 years

Linguistic Profile: Fluent in written and oral communication in English and French

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their cover letter.
• A university, college degree or post-secondary equivalency.
• Experience in reviewing, analyzing and extracting information from databases.
• Experience in writing various correspondence.

Condition(s) of Employment:
Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor. Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security screening (including a criminal record check).
Copies of educational qualifications will be required at the interview stage of the process. Successful candidate must have a valid passport and the required documentation allowing the right to work in the UK. Documentation will be required.

This position is open to candidates currently resident in the UK, who hold current documentation allowing them to work in the UK without restriction, who meet all of the essential requirements stated and whose applications are received by the closing date. Those candidates holding visas not renewable in the UK - such as the Youth Mobility Visa will be eligible to apply for this position providing the expiry date of their visa exceeds the full period of employment (to at least August 2019).
