Summary of position:
Reporting to the Management Consular Officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai. Accountable for the provision of mission specific common services to mission clientele in addition to the coordination of regionalized common services requests from the mission to the Client Service Delivery Point located in the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, India. Responsible for the delivery of the following common services: property and facilities management, material management and procurement; limited responsibilities for the delivery of the following common services: financial, human resources; and the management of information and documentation of the service(s) in accordance with established policies, guidelines and procedures.

Essential qualifications:
Education:
• Successful completion of a university degree from a recognized university

Language:
• Fluency in English (both oral and written)

Experience:
• Experience working in an office environment for a minimum of five (5) years.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of property and facilities management, material management and procurement

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:
• Fluency in Arabic (both oral and written)
• Master’s degree in a related field e.g. business administration
• Experience working for a diplomatic mission or an international organization
• Experience working in property and facilities management, material management and procurement

If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

Operational Requirements:
• Ability to work regular overtime (evenings and weekends)
• Annual leave during the summer period may be restricted due to operational needs
• Prepared to do site visits for properties within the city limits of Dubai on a weekly basis
• Ability to work in diverse international and cultural environments
• Willingness to undergo training

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to obtain a UAE residence visa
• Ability to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
• As a member of the Canadian diplomatic presence abroad, required to adhere to Canada's Code on Values & Ethics.
