Summary of position:
Reporting to the Senior Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Chandigarh, the candidate will provide administrative services, logistics support for events including trade exhibition and promotional event participation, document management, market research, management of business network and client coordination, financial monitoring and reporting, and high level and business delegation visit programs coordination.

Essential qualifications:
Mandatory Screening Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from a government recognized University.

Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi

Experience: Minimum 3 years (within the past 5 years) of relevant experience in all of the following areas:

• Experience organizing and coordinating administrative arrangements and schedules for middle and/or senior management;
• Experience compiling information and preparing various correspondence and reports for middle and/or senior management;
• Experience in conducting online research and synthesizing information from research into a coherent format, such as briefings, correspondence, and responses to enquiries.

Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of and ability to use MS-Office (including strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Mandatory Rated Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of office organizational principles, filing, inventory control and communications logs and accounting skills.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities

Condition(s) of Employment:
The successful candidate may be asked to work extended hours when/ as required.

The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

• Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
• Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
• Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

All individuals who are eligible to work in India; All employees of Canadian missions in India

The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the Consulate General of Canada, Chandigarh which may arise in the twelve (12) months following the completion of this competition.
