Summary of position:
The Operations Assistant (LE-05) works as part of a team at the CSDP, which provides HR, Finance and Contracting services to other diplomatic missions within Europe. The Operations Assistant; provides daily administrative support and services; provides and creates information and/or documentation, supports regional/local focus by engaging in administrative interactions and proactively cooperating with regional/local offices/programs and missions relating to normal job duties. Provides support and participates in ongoing program activities as well as the implementation of wider regional/local initiatives being implemented across the network of Canadian diplomatic missions with Europe. Monitors service delivery levels and prepares reports for the respective Manager. Researches and disseminates information on administration of the program and coordinates calls and workshops events. Provides French and English translation services for outward communication.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education: A-level’s or equivalent

Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years recent* experience working in an office environment in an administrative support or program assistant capacity.
*Recent experience is defined as within last 4 years.

Linguistic Profile: Fluent in both French and English

Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following: written test, oral communication, interview and reference checks.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their cover letter.

- Experience in working for the Government of Canada in an Administrative position.
- A university, college degree or post-secondary equivalency.
- Experience in writing various correspondence.

Some travel, overtime and weekend work may be necessary on occasion

Condition(s) of Employment:
Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at time to be arranged by the supervisor. Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security screening (including a criminal record check).
Copies of educational qualifications will be required at the interview stage of the process. Successful candidate must have a valid passport and the required documentation allowing the right to work in the UK. Documentation will be required.
