Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Events & Visits Officer, the Events and Visits Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of assigned official mission, third party events as well as high level visits. The incumbent provides coordination of ongoing program activities to include developing and tracking budgets and contracts with multiple third party stakeholders, coordinating logistical requirements and making recommendations to event hosts based on scheduling capacity and resources. The incumbent will provide administrative support and services in direct support of program objectives and goals

Essential qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate clearly how they meet the Language, Education and Experience qualifications listed below:

Language:
Fluency in written and oral English is required.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
1. Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in a logistics/operations role.
2. Recent Experience organising events and visits – preferably with VIP delegations/high visits.
3. Recent Experience coordinating visits/ events with the United Nations.
4. Experience in financial administration including budgets and the preparation of reports.
5. Experience in conducting a variety forms research.
6. Recent Experience using of Word, Excel, and Outlook, research databases and contacts/client management systems.
*Recent is defined in the last 5 years.

Rated Requirements:
Candidates who meet the Education and Experience qualifications will be assessed on the following requirements;

Knowledge:
• Knowledge in coordinating logistical support for a team and organization of schedules;
• Knowledge of UN protocol for visits/events;
• Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, including correspondence; and
• Knowledge in working with Word, Excel, and Outlook, research, databases and contacts/client management systems and mobile platforms.

Hours of work:
Normal hours of work for this position are in accordance with the Locally Engaged Staff (LES) regulations of 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate must be willing to work evenings, some weekends especially during the fall months.

Condition(s) of Employment:

• Eligibility for a Government of Canada Reliability Status which includes a criminal and credit background check; and
• Independent work authorization in the United States and status in accordance with United States protocol directives for foreign missions.

Open to: • Persons living in the New York Tri-State Area. • Employees of the Consulate General of Canada in New York and the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations. • Employees of any Canadian Mission in the United States. • Spouses and dependents of Canada‐based staff at the Consulate General of Canada in New York and Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations. Note: Relocation expenses will not be paid in any circumstance.
