Full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Term contract (12 months) including one year probation, with the possibility to be renewed or become indeterminate based on operational requirements. This position is a LES (Locally Engaged Staff) position, subject to the Terms and Conditions of Employment for LES in Algeria.

Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Common Services Agent, the incumbent:

• Provides administrative support services;
• Coordinates and administers procedures and operations in the common service area (including: financial operations, human resources, customs clearance and shipment tracking, relocation / CE installation provisions);
• Provides human resource support such as staffing, payroll preparation, classification, leave administration, and others;
• Prepares and provides reports, spreadsheets and information in the areas of common services activities: administration, finance and human resources;
• Coordinates, drafts and transmits documents such as briefing notes, correspondence, official documents, and letters to state agencies and resource persons;
• Collects, scans, reviews and uploads incoming documents into integrated and automated corporate systems for financial management and resource management;
• Collects, prepares and maintains documents and data in the Department's electronic systems;
• Processes and coordinates VAT exemption and refund requests with local authorities;
• Completes and submits forms on various systems and for various beneficiaries;
• Coordinates common service requests from the Mission to the regional joint service delivery point and headquarters;
• Coordinates and schedules activities, schedules and meetings, as well as facilitating the development of travel plans as required.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education:
• Undergraduate university degree with a speciality in accounting, administration, business administration, trade, human resources, financial economics or any other field relevant to the position; or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Language:
• Fluency in French and Arabic (spoken and written).

Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years of recent professional experience * in an administrative support role (including: finance, accounting, administration or human resources); in an office environment.
* Recent experience is defined as a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the last five (5) years.

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Proficiency in with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of human resources legislation (labor law, social law, etc.);
• Knowledge of protocol, customs procedures and the legal and fiscal framework;
• Knowledge of Canada's second official language (English).

Experiences:
• Recent experience in an international organization or diplomatic mission;
• Experience with the Integrated Management System (SAP);
• Work experience in a human resource discipline such as recruitment, payroll preparation, classification, or others;
• Experience working in a customer service environment.

Operational Requirements:
• Ability and willingness to work overtime when required.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Applicants must have a valid work permit covering the entire period of employment.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a reliability level security clearance.
