Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Common Services Officer provides transportation, delivery and errand services to all mission programs, arranges for car maintenance, and provides basic administrative, maintenance and support services to the mission following established mission and departmental policies.
Note: the incumbent must be proficient in English sufficient to understand instructions and communicate information as required to carry out the duties below and communicate with local authorities/traffic wardens where and if required.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and/ or CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
Education:
• Successful Completion of high school education.

Language:
• Proficient in English (oral and reading)
Experience:
• At least 3 years of recent experience (within the past five (5) years) working in Dubai in a job role that includes driving services as the main duty.
• Relevant experience in providing client service, in representing the employer to outside organizations and in obtaining services from external vendors.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Rated Requirements:
Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. These may be assessed at a later stage through any of the following: written exam, interview, role-play, practical test, presentation and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of routes in the Dubai Emirate.
• Knowledge of local laws pertaining to traffic systems, safety and security while driving and during any emergency situation (during accidents).
• Basic knowledge of vehicles and mechanics.
• Knowledge of dealing with Government departments in UAE.
• Knowledge of basic office support work including scanning, shredding, photocopying, filing and/or other tasks assigned when required.

Abilities/Competencies:
• Ability to use tools such as GPS and/or internet mapping systems and with planning requests in a work time table, i.e. Microsoft Outlook Calendar.

Asset Qualifications:
Candidates may also be screened against the Asset Qualifications. Preference may be given to candidates who meet these asset qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any of the asset qualifications in their cover letter and/ or CV.

• Fluent in English
• Experience working for Government or International Organization.
• Working knowledge in Arabic or French.
• Experience driving VIPs/dignitaries.
• Completion of defensive driving course.

Operational Requirements:
• Ability to work irregular hours and/or overtime as required.
• Required to wear a uniform.
• Must have a valid UAE driver’s license.
• Current clean driving record.
• Able to do physical tasks such as lift boxes / suitcases, clean cars, etc.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to obtain and maintain a UAE residence visa.
• Must be residing in the UAE when the offer of employment is made.
• Ability to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance). The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.
o Police clearance certificate for the last 10 years
o Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)
• Maintenance of a valid passport
