The Consulate General of Canada is seeking energetic and reliable team players with a flair for learning and performing to create a pool of emergency employees to meet its short term requirements.

Summary of position:
Under close supervision, performs routine clerical tasks, including entering baseline information into automated systems, creating electronic and hard copy files, retaining and disposing of files as per departmental instruction, sending and tracking correspondence, maintaining filing system, preparing and maintaining various documentation, provides assistance to colleagues and performs other duties.

Essential qualifications:
Mandatory Screening Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a government recognized college/University.

Language: Fluency in English language (written and oral).

Computer Skills: MS-Office (including Word, Excel), MS Outlook.

Mandatory Rated Qualifications:

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.

• Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy

Asset Qualifications:
Candidates are encouraged to indicate how they meet the following criteria, where applicable:

• Ability to read, understand and communicate in French/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Gujrati.
• 6 months or more experience in general office environment. Demonstrated work experience on a PC in a network environment
• Prior work experience in the visa section of any High Commission/ Embassy

Operational Requirements:
ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

• Meet all of the mandatory screening qualifications and mandatory rated qualifications stated below.
• Have independent work authorization in India.
• Willing to work on short term assignments (6 months or less).

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

• Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
• Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
• Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)

Area of selection:
Individuals who are eligible to work in India and residing in Bengaluru.

The initial appointment shall be for 3 months that can be extended up to a maximum of 6 months in a period of 12 months depending on the operational requirements.

In addition, tests may be conducted to assist the selection board in assessing the applicant’s qualifications, skills and language ability. Reference verifications shall be conducted as a part of the hiring process.
The results of this competition may also be used to establish an eligibility list to staff similar openings at the Consulate General of Canada, Bengaluru which may arise in the twelve (12) months following the completion of this competition.
