Summary of position:
Under the responsibility of the Head of the Canadian Security and supervision of the Supervisor Brigade, the main role of the security Agent is to ensure that the security integrity of the complex of the Embassy is not violated. To achieve this, the security Agent controls access to the site, patrols or performs security checks.
To fulfill this mandate and provide service 24/7, it is imperative to establish work schedules including shifts. Like any shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays will be considered as regular working days (excluding the wage premium).

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education:
• A minimum level of Grade 9 Middle or an equivalent combination of relevant studies, training and experience.

Language:
• Good knowledge of French reading, speaking and writing;
• Knowledge of Arabic (reading and speaking).

Experience:
• Have at least three (03) years of continuous work experience in one of the following areas:
- Internal security post (Customs, Gendarmerie, Police, Penitentiary);
- Civil Protection (intervention level);
- A diplomatic mission (to the security services or a related field).

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Able to use MS Office, Internet browsing, using Outlook, etc.) messaging;
• Knowledge of general procedures and practices relating to the safety of persons and equipment (use of force, searches, using the X-ray machine, etc. . .).

Abilities/Competencies:
• Judgement;
• Honesty and Integrity;
• Observation and attention to details;
• Client focus;
• Effective Communication.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

Operational Requirements:
• Contractual hours between 48 and 60 hours per week depending on the rotation cycle of 27 days established by the Security Section of the Embassy;
• Be available to work overtime.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• The successful candidate must be eligible to work and live in Algeria.
• Candidates must have a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period. If the employment is indeterminate, the work authorization should be permanent or itself lead to a permanent work authorization.
• Before an offer of employment can be made, candidates must provide a local address as proof of residence in the specific city, region or country so that if selected, it will appear on the offer letter.
• Obtain and maintain a reliability rating (security clearance) from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
• The successful candidate must meet all requirements of the medical examination in order to work in this position (compulsory).
• The success candidate must be in possession of a valid driving license.
