Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Common Services Officer (CSO) or another Officer/Manager, the incumbent is accountable for the provision of administrative support services of mission specific common services and the coordination of regionalized common services requests from the mission to the CSDP. Responsible for the provision of documents, information and a variety of administrative services in support of more than one of the following areas: finance and human resources.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education:
• Bachelor's degree (BAC + 2) from a recognized university in administration or other discipline relevant to the position or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
Language:
• Fluent in French (spoken and written)

Experience:
• A minimum of three (3) years of recent* work experience in providing financial services.
• Recent* experience in providing advice and solutions to internal clients
*Recent is regarded as within the last 5 years

Rated Requirements

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles;
• Knowledge of financial procedures including budgeting, forecasting and invoice processing.
• Knowledge of Human Resources, including time sheet controlling, calculating overtime, salary and benefits.
• Knowledge of computer software including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Ability/Competencies:
• Ability to interpret and analyze information quickly and efficiently
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple requests
• Attention to details
• Ability to work in a team and sense of collaboration
• Ability to effectively communicate interactively
• Professional integrity and good judgment

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the asset qualifications. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and resume how they meet these qualifications, if any.
• Knowledge of SAP software;
• Recent experience (within the past five years) as a financial assistant in a diplomatic mission, a government agency, or a multinational company;
• Experience in payroll preparation;

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to work occasionally outside normal working hours and/or weekends, as required;
• Hours of work: Normal working week 37.5 hours (7.5 hours per day)

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to legally reside and work in Senegal;
• Obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Reliability Level).
