Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Real Property Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to mission-specific (embassy) common services and coordinating regionalized common services requests from the Mission to the Common Services Delivery Point (CSDP). The incumbent is responsible for providing documents, information and various administrative services in support of more than one of the following business areas: Real Property and Facilities Management, Inventory Management, and Contracting.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.


• Bachelor’s degree (BAC + 2) from a recognized university in Administration or Building Technology or other discipline relevant to the position or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.


• Fluent in French (oral and written)


• A minimum of three (2) years of recent* work experience in planning and delivery of property management services
• A minimum of three (2) years of recent* work experience in managing properties and supervising construction jobs
• A minimum of two (2) years of recent* work experience in managing a team of at least three (3) employees.

*Recent is defined as within the last five (5) years

Rated Requirements

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.


• Knowledge of basic administrative procedures and practices, and managing inventories
• Knowledge of real property management procedures
• Basic knowledge of contracting/procurement practices for goods and services;
• Knowledge of computer software including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).


• Ability to liaise with internal clients and external providers such as owners and service providers
• Ability to engage and organize the work of a team
• Attention to detail
• Sense of customer service

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the asset qualifications. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and resume how they meet these qualifications, if any.

• Experience in real estate management within a diplomatic mission, an international organization, or with a large international enterprise;
• Experience in project management;
• Knowledge of English (oral);
• Knowledge of Wolof (oral).

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to work occasionally outside normal working hours and/or weekends, as required;
• Hours of work: Normal working week 37.5 hours (7.5 hours per day)

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Ability to legally reside and work in Senegal;
• Obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Reliability Status).
