Summary of position:
Reporting to a Trade Commissioner, is the focal point of contact for an assigned group of reactive sectors, which are not dealt with by any other member of the IBD Team at the mission. Responds to clients’/partner clients’ requests for advice and guidance on a variety of routine and/or urgent issues; and provides administrative services to one or more Officers.

Essential qualifications:
Mandatory Screening Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from a government recognized university, preferably with a degree in commerce or economics.

Language: A superior command of English is essential, including excellent writing skills.

Experience: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of recent (within the last five years) relevant work experience in:
• Supporting in general trade promotion, market research, event planning or business development in an organization involved in international trade and investment promotion;
• Experience serving clients online and in person in a professional environment;
• Experience in writing, editing and formatting documents;
• Experience in conducting on-line research and synthesizing information from research into a coherent format, such as briefings, correspondence, and responses to enquiries.

Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS-Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Mandatory Rated Qualifications:

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Indian government departments and agencies;
• Working knowledge of budgets and the principles of financial management.

• Ability to plan and organize workflow, effectively managing multiple and conflicting demands within tight deadlines;

Asset Qualifications:

Condition(s) of Employment:
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to a Reliability Check (RC) obtained by the Management. To conduct the Reliability Check (RC), the candidate will have to submit the following documents on being selected by the mission.

1. Police clearance certificate (Character Certificate)
2. Letter of recognition from your bank stating your name, years of client service and your address
3. Professional and educational certificates and mark sheets (i.e., academic transcripts)
