Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Migration Program Manager (MPM), supports the delivery of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) Programs through furthering the processing of applications using procedural expertise and exercising judgement, applying a developed knowledge of established guidelines, conducting research to support information gathering for the processing of applications, and exercising initiative in organizing work, tracking resources, and resolving difficult problems.

*Supports the administrative needs of the Migration Program Manager and the Migration Office by: maintaining budget records, preparing and tracking financial documents, maintaining calendars, arranging meetings, planning, preparing and executing travel and hospitality and preparing claims on behalf of the MPM, Officers, and official visitors. Coordinates tasks with other sections of the Embassy, headquarters, partners, and vendors.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience, computer skills, and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications. Candidates who do not demonstrate that they meet each of these essential qualifications will not receive further consideration.

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Language:
• Proficiency in English - comprehension, oral and written;
• Proficiency in French - comprehension, oral and written;
• Proficiency in Arabic - comprehension, oral and written.


Experience:
• Minimum of two (2) years recent experience (within the past five (5) years) working in an office environment in an administrative support capacity;
• Experience working in logistics, planning, and scheduling.
Computer Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Rated Qualifications

The Rated Qualifications relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, and/or practical tests.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of general financial and administrative methods.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Master’s degree from a recognized university;
• Experience (minimum of six (6) months experience in the past three (3) years) working in the Migration Section of an Embassy, Consulate or High Commission of Canada

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Successful candidate(s) may occasionally be required to work overtime, including on evenings and weekends;
• Must be willing to lift boxes and files (up to 20kgs).

Condition(s) of Employment:
• The successful candidate(s) must be able to legally work in Lebanon or at the Embassy of Canada in Lebanon.
• Applicants must hold a valid working authorization covering the period of employment. If the employment is of an indeterminate nature, or becomes indeterminate, then the work authorization should be permanent or lead by itself to permanent work authorization.
• Reliability Security Clearance must be granted and maintained throughout employment – failure to pass the security clearance will result in dismissal
