Summary of position:
Under the supervision of the Management Program Assistant, this position represents the client service front-end of the Embassy. The receptionist operates the central telephone switchboard and responds to telephone and electronic queries from the public, clients and Embassy stakeholders; as well as provides administrative, information-management and logistical support.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

Education:
• Minimum high school diploma

Language:
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Fluency in Hebrew (spoken and written)

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years recent and relevant experience in a client service role. Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Computer proficiency in MS office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Internet research.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.
• Fluency in French (spoken)
• Fluency in Arabic
• Prior experience in an international organization or diplomatic mission.
• Vocational diploma or university degree
• Experience drafting formal correspondence

Organizational Needs:
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
• Ability to work occasional overtime (evenings, weekends if necessary)
• Ability to travel and attend offsite meetings/work requirements.

Operational Requirements:

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Applicants must be able to reside and work in Israel.
• The Canadian Government cannot sponsor a candidate to obtain work authorization documents.
• Successful candidates will be subject to Reliability Security Check. The security clearance must be maintained throughout employment.
