Summary of position:
Under the general direction of the [CBS Officer, Property Manager or MCO], the Senior Maintenance Technician performs repairs in one or several functional areas of expertise for the mission such as electricity, heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC), audio-visual, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting. The incumbent may also be required to supervise a team of maintenance technicians and/or supervise and inspect work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with manufacturer’s specifications when required.

Essential qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential Requirements will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education
• Engineering or technical degree attested by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Language
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Fluent in Arabic (oral)

Experience
• Minimum 5 years of recent* experience working in a facilities management environment including residential and commercial section.
• Must have supervisory experience of 3+ years.
• Valid Saudi Driver’s License.
*Recent is defined as within the last 3 to 5 years

Rated Requirements
Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following: written test, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, references, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.
Candidates who are screened in will be required to complete a written test. Only the candidates retained after the test will be contacted for an interview. The interview will consist of a series of questions and/or exercises in order to evaluate the aptitudes and qualifications of each candidate.

Knowledge
• Knowledge of MS office (Excel and Outlook)
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices
• Knowledge of correct reporting and documentation procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations/procedures
• Knowledge of codes and standards in Saudi Arabia
• Knowledge of basic maintenance management concepts and procedures:
o Maintaining supplies and inventories
o Maintaining service records
• Knowledge of basic maintenance repair concepts and procedures in one or more of the following areas:
o Electrical
o Carpentry
o Plumbing
o Air conditioning
o Residential appliances

Abilities
• Ability to complete and relay facts related to incidents (flooding, damages, etc.)
• Ability to co-ordinate conflicting priorities, perform to tight deadlines and prioritize work
• Ability to diagnose and solve basic technical problems
• Ability to supervise contract trades and other resource personnel

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Fluency in Arabic (both oral and written)
• Fluency in French (both oral and written)
• 10+ years of experience working in facilities management
• Working for a Diplomatic Mission
• Vocational certificate or diploma in building Electro Mechanical services or relevant experience.
If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their handwritten letter.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Must be a legal resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and eligible to work therein;
• Valid passport and Saudi residency permit(Iqama)
• Iqama transfer required. Kindly note that the embassy sponsors all eligible indeterminate employees. Only professional Iqama can be transferred to the embassy. The embassy cannot transfer an applicant currently on a dependent iqama i.e. spouse or child.
• Obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
• Successful completion of a one (1) year probation period
• Successful candidates must pass a routine medical examination (Funded by the Embassy)
