Summary of position:
The Embassy of Canada in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is soliciting applications for a Housekeeping Attendant. Under the general supervision of Property Section, the Housekeeping Attendant (HA) ensures that all public areas, lavatories, hallways, stairs, entrances, kitchens and working areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition including washing and cleaning floors, table tops and windows, as well as vacuuming/dusting and removing waste. The Housekeeping Attendant is also required to assist with hospitality and event duties.

Essential qualifications:
Essential qualifications
Applicants must clearly and explicitly demonstrate in both their application letter and CV that they meet the essential qualifications in education, language and experience criteria listed to be screened into this competition. Only candidates that meet the language, experience and education qualifications will be invited for assessment.

Education:
• Successful completion of Secondary or High School Diploma

Languages:
• Fluency in English (oral & written)

Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of recent* experience in a domestic role (house cleaning)
• Recent experience in general support/running errands
• Experience working in an Embassy or Non-governmental organisation environment

*Recent is defined as within the past 5 years.

Abilities:
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow cleaning and maintenance instructions
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Ability to Perform routine cleaning schedules;
• Ability to prepare the cleaning supply order;

Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Internet search engines

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications:

• Experience working in an official residence or in a diplomatic context;
• Competency in French

If candidates meet the factors listed in the asset qualifications they must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their covering letter.

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Must be able to work overtime as required (sometimes at short notice);
• Must be available to work periodic evenings and/or weekends to provide service at official functions
• The employee will be required to wear a uniform and should be able to do physical tasks such as lift heavy boxes, etc.

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Must be a legal resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and eligible to work;
• Valid passport and Saudi residency permit(Iqama)
• Iqama transfer required. Only professional Iqama can be transferred to the embassy. The embassy cannot transfer an applicant currently on a dependent iqama (i.e. spouse or child). Kindly note that the embassy sponsors all eligible employees.
• Obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance)
• Successful completion of a one (1) year probation period
• Successful candidates must pass a routine medical examination (funded by the Embassy)
