Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Property and Material Assistant, provides transportation, delivery and errand services to the Canadian Ambassador and other mission programs, arranges for car maintenance, and provides basic administrative, maintenance and support services to the mission following established mission and departmental policies.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

• Language requirements
 Fluency in Hungarian (written and oral)
 Ability to speak and read one of the official languages of Canada (English or French), at a basic level

• Qualifications
 Secondary school diploma
 Valid, possibly professional Hungarian driving license (at least category B)

• Experience
 Active driving experience in the past 3-5 years

Rated Requirements

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

• Knowledge
 Expert knowledge and understanding of traffic rules and regulations
 Excellent knowledge of Budapest streets and surrounding areas
 Basic user-level knowledge of MS Outlook functions (email, calendar)

• Abilities
 Ability to plan routes in advance and use of a GPS or other internet-based or smartphone applications
 Physical suitability (must be able to lift and move heavy items)

• Competencies
 Adaptability and flexibility
 Teamwork and cooperation
 Sound judgement and good problem solving skills
 Honesty and integrity
 Tact and discretion

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates should clearly demonstrate in their cover letter if they meet these qualifications.

• Knowledge of both official languages of Canada (English and French)
• Proven work experience at a diplomatic mission or international organization
• Mechanical knowledge background
• Professional driving license (PÁV)
• Completion of driving training(s)

• Ability to work overtime on short notice (evenings, weekends if necessary)
• Ability to travel within Hungary and abroad

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory references and the ability to obtain and maintain reliability security clearance (including a criminal record check);
• Proof of right to work in Hungary and copies of educational qualifications may be required at the interview stage;
• Occupational health clearance which must be maintained throughout the time of employment.

Maintaining a valid driving license, a valid occupational health certificate and a valid security clearance is also a condition of this position.
