Summary of position:
As a member of the Common Services Program, the Driver Messenger provides transportation for authorized passengers; delivers and collects a variety of official documents and materials; ensures proper maintenance of the official vehicles; and performs other duties.

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and CV how they meet each of these essential qualifications.

• Fluency in English and Filipino (read, write and speak)

• Secondary Diploma from a recognized establishment. An acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered

• Minimum of three (3) years of, recent*, professional experience in driving and operating an automotive vehicle
* ”Recent” is defined as within the last five (5) years

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and CV.

• Ability to communicate in French (orally or in writing)
• Work experience in a diplomatic mission and/or international organization
• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office

Organizational Needs:

Operational Requirements:
• Be able and committed to working additional hours as required, and on short notice, during evenings and weekends.
• 40 hours per week

Condition(s) of Employment:
The successful candidate must:
• Obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance from the Government of Canada. This involves, among other things, criminal record checks, credit checks and validation of qualifications.
• Meet the employer’s medical requirements by undergoing a medical evaluation by a physician.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license of the appropriate category to operate a motor vehicle in the Philippines.
• If non-citizen of the Philippines, have the possession of or ability to procure a valid working permit in the Philippines for an indeterminate period.
